Our Doctors
Dr. Kathy Vuu
Dr. Vuu grew up in Lynnwood, Washington and attended the University of Washington, graduating with a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences. She then continued on to Pacific University, College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon and graduated in 2004. For the first 18 years of her career, she practiced in the specialty of refractive surgery alongside some of the leading Ophthalmologists in the area, and was one of the first Optometrists performing LDD treatments for the new FDA approved Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL) for refractive lens exchange in Washington state. In addition, she has partnered with the FDA as an investigator in numerous clinical trials relating to LASIK eye surgery. Her honest, yet compassionate and meticulous approach to eye care is what sets her apart.
Shortly after graduation, she went on her first medical mission trip, serving and caring for unreached communities in Vietnam where medical, dental and optometry care was lacking. The impact of the trip on her life and the lives of those receiving care compelled her to join her church's Missions Core Team for nearly a decade in supporting, leading and co-leading multiple medical teams into Vietnam and Cambodia. She met her husband on the Vietnam 2010 team and got married in 2014. They continue to share the same love in serving others, supporting ministries and organizations they believe in, and building relationships through different opportunities at home. At the beginning of 2022, an opportunity opened for them to take a step of faith to relocate to beautiful Snohomish where they eventually opened EYES on Lake Stevens.
In her free time, she likes to explore new things with her creative side, woodwork, garden, read a good book, laugh with friends over a good cup of coffee or take a walk in the beautiful outdoors. Most of all, she finds the greatest joy in being a wife and mom, and spending time with her family.
